Emergency Couple (Ongoing): Review

So lately I have been loving this ongoing Korean drama called Emergency Couple. It stars Song Ji Hyo and Choi Jin Hyuk. I remember Song Ji Hyo as the ballerina girl from Princess Hours and as a permanent cast of Running Man. Choi Jin Hyuk, however, has left an impression on me since he was Kim Tan's older brother in The Heirs. Needless to say, I was really excited about watching the drama because two great leads are starring in it.

The drama is all about a couple who married early in their lives despite not having their parents' blessing. Life particularly became harder for them as Oh Chang Min couldn't finish his degree in medicine and Oh Jin Hee wasn't doing well in her own field as well. To cut the plot short, they ended up in a divorce. Six years later, they meet again as interns in the Emergency Room department.

This drama is still ongoing and I have been watching out for its weekly releases (with subs) every week since week 1. It is a romantic comedy that has definitely captured my heart. I find myself laughing at numerous scenes and I just love how sweet the story is going (so far). I watch this along with my mom, who also likes the show. I'm not gonna write up a long review as I might reveal spoilers if I don't get stopped.

I will leave you, however, a photo of the cutest character I've ever seen in my life. Everyone, meet Baby Gook!!! Isn't he the cutest? Whenever he pops into the screen, I always wonder whose baby he is. I wanna tell them they might actually just have delivered the cutest baby ever!

I really hope they wrap this drama up well because most of the time, it's the last episode that ruins the whole watching experience for me. And when that happens, I just continue to watch it anyway since I've already spent a lot of time on the other episodes that I just can't let go on the last one. I really hope this particular drama doesn't disappoint.

Are you watching or planning to watch the same show? It airs every Fridays and Saturdays. If so, what are your thoughts? Leave them all down below in the comment section and see you in my next post!

Art Idol: Review

So for my first post since I restarted blogging here, I will be talking about a Thai movie. Yes, a movie from Thailand. I came to know the beauty of Thai movies through 'Crazy Little Thing Called Love', which I watched back in late 2010 or early 2011 (can't remember the exact date). Upon watching that movie, I realized that Thai movies are quite interesting. And so I tried more Thai movies like 'Bangkok Love Story' and 'Hello Stranger', both of which are really good romantic comedy films.

Today, I am here to share yet another romantic comedy Thai film called 'Art Idol'. As far as I'm concerned, Art Idol isn't really a viral movie (here in the Philippines) like 'Crazy Little Thing Called Love' but it is a cute story that I would recommend for a feel good movie.

The plot is all about a boy named Art, who doesn't have a clear view of his future and doesn't have any idea on what career to pursue. He's always been the type of person to get tired of something easily, unlike his childhood friend and neighbor, Foon. The story begins when Art saw Mee, a beautiful girl who seemed to have interest in art. He then decided to pursue art as a career. With the help of a well-known artist called Mo, he strives to become an Art-ist that would swoon Mee of her feet.

So basically, the whole story is very typical. And unlike most people, I love stories that are typical. I laugh at the most obvious jokes and shallow things. That is why I found this movie enjoyable. I loved how simple the story line was and how every scene felt very light on the heart.

I wish I could tell you more about the characters and actors. But due to limited english information regarding this movie, I can't talk about them. All I know are some of their names: Chonkan Poonsiriwong (Art), Kornkamol Chareonchai (Foon), Marut Manakul, Pilasinee Pichaikul worasiri and Pongtep Anurat (Mo). Also, I know that the lead actor is quite good looking. I'm pretty sure he's a lot younger than me but no offense intended, I'm just trying to appreciate his beauty. xp

To give you more idea on how the movie is, here are some screen caps that you might be interested in. The caps are not of high quality since I only have the not-so-good quality over here. Anyway, this is just an idea of how the movie looks like.

See you on my next post!

Restart the Blog!

One of the things I am passionate about is blogging and Asian culture. To be more specific, I am into Korean culture. It all started back in late 2006 when I chanced upon this drama called "Princess Hours". It was such a riveting experience, back then. I mean, sure, I've watched several Korean dramas before such as "Full House" and the sort but it was only after PH (Princess Hours) that I actually became hooked. After watching PH, I was on the lookout for the next epic drama out there. That was when I became more active into searching dramas, movies, etc. My interest did not stop from shows originating from Korea but also those from Japan, Taiwan and eventually, even Thailand! Also, I came about their songs and that's how my love relationship with K-Pop began. Come 2007, I realized that this is not just a fleeting thing. I knew deep within me that this is something that would be a part of me.

I, then, came into thinking that there are other people like me. People who are not from Korea, but are fond of Korean dramas. People who are not from Japan, but are interested in their movies. And so I started this blog. I wrote reviews of different dramas, animes, movies and even music albums that I've encountered. It was all in the hope that my blog would be helpful for other people, in search for similar things. To date, there are 75 posts (some unpublished-- drafts) in this blog written way back when I was still a college student and shortly after I graduated. The sad thing, though, is when I started working in the hospital, I neglected the blog. Hence, my latest post before this was dated back in July 2011, when I was still starting my training (for the job).

Now, I want to restart the blog. I don't know how long it will take me to actually revamp the look and feel of the blog but as soon as I do, I will start blogging about the same things- Asian dramas, movies and music. I feel very optimistic about this and I can't wait to share my thoughts with you!

If you have any drama, movie or music recommendations, just leave them all down below in the comment section. I would love to try them out. And if I already did, I might do a review on it. Sounds good? Good. :)
